William Arthur “Cowboy” Richards, 88 of Shepherdsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Norton Audubon Hospital, after a battle with an illness.
Cowboy was a legendary community figure. If spent any time in or around Shepherdsville, then you knew of Cowboy and his moped (he called it his Harley). He was a volunteer firefighter with Nichols, Southeast and Shepherdsville fire departments. He also volunteered with the Red Cross and the Crusade for Children. He was a kind man, a Christian by faith, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was loved by and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Anna Elizabeth Richards; his siblings, Evelyn Jacobs, Martha Perkins, Eddie Booth, Kenny Ray Richards, Jerry Richards, and Betty Lee Richards.
Cowboy is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Richards; his daughters, Chrystal Lymes and Kandy Hall; his grandchildren, Jonathan Hall, Dylan Crowder, Autumn Crowder, Emily Lymes and Faith Lymes; his great-grandchildren, Peyton, Wyatt, and Gage Hall.
