William "Billy" Mark Hardin Jr.

William “Billy” Mark Hardin Jr., 80 of Shepherdsville passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Robley Rex VA Medical Center with his family by his side.
Billy was a Baptist by faith. He dutifully served in the Army Nation Guard. He was the owner/operator of Hardin’s Pine Mill for 40 years. He was skilled and loved working with his hands to engineer and create various items. He was a self-taught historian, he and his wife Sue enjoyed traveling and camping, making stops along the way to visit historical sites. He was a dedicated family man with a passion for the time, stories shared, and memories made together. He was proud of his family, the adults his children had become and the generations that followed. He was an exemplary leader and role model, he was humble about his stature, and unwavering in his loyalty; His life was one for history books.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sarah and William Hardin, Sr.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of more than 60 years, Sue Hardin; his children William “Mark” Hardin III (Missy) of Louisville and Jill Hardin (Shelby Clements) of Cox’s Creek; sister Belinda Hardin (Joel) of Graham NC; aunt Tootie Cusick (Jimmy); grandchildren Chasity Carol Morris and John Kenneth Morris Jr. (Sarah); great-grandchildren Anderson “Andi” James Morris and Matthew Kenneth Morris; several nieces and nephews; cousins, additional family members and friends.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with Marty Scheider officiating. Burial to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
