Shepherdsville

Tommy Dwight Hasting, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on June 30, 2025, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. Born on August 25, 1948, in Elkmount, Alabama, Tommy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family.

A retired employee of General Electric and member of the GE local IUE 761, Tommy was known not only for his work ethic but also for his warmth and humor. He had a great passion for the simple pleasures in life, evident in his hobbies. An enthusiast of science fiction movies, he found joy in tinkering with cars and riding his beloved big blue tractor while nurturing the land he tended to. Tommy was a happy soul, characterized by his radiant smile and playful nature, often lightening the mood with his jests.

Family was the cornerstone of Tommy's existence. He was a devoted husband to Patricia "Pat" Hasting, with whom he shared a loving marriage for nearly 55 years, having tied the knot on September 26, 1970. Together, they built a harmonious life filled with memories that would last a lifetime. Tommy took great pride in his children, Tim Hasting (Donnie Bentley) and Angela Hasting (Juney Dever), and his face would light up with joy whenever his grandchildren—McKenzie, Payton, and Juney Tanner Hasting—entered the room. He affectionately bestowed nicknames, such as "Cricket" for his granddaughter, exemplifying the love that radiated from him. His laughter and gentle spirit brought unparalleled happiness to their lives, and he truly cherished the time spent together, building family bonds that will endure.

Tommy was a proud member of the local Masonic Lodge #955, reflecting his commitment to community and fraternity. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his son, Tim Hasting (and Donnie Bentley); his daughter, Angela Hasting (and Juney Dever); his grandchildren; and his siblings, Phyllis Perkins (and Greg), Carol Bishop (and Craig), and Malcom Audrey Hasting (and Mildred Louise).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcom and Mildred Nicholas Hasting, and his siblings, Kenneth, Jerome, and Eric Hasting.

Tommy Dwight Hasting's legacy of love and laughter will endure through the family he cherished and the countless memories he created. He will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
