Thelma Marie Coy, a devoted homemaker and cherished family member, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 2, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on April 25, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was known for her nurturing spirit and the warmth she brought to everyone around her.
Thelma was a devoted wife to her husband, Larry Coy, and a proud mother to their son, Larry Coy Jr. Her family was the center of her world, and her love for them remains an enduring part of her legacy. She is survived by her brothers, Frank Embry and his spouse Sharon, along with Rick Embry and his spouse Jerry. She was preceded in death by her wonderful son, Larry Coy Jr., as well as her sister, Theresa Hasting and spouse Danny, and her brother, Kenny Embry. Throughout her life, Thelma cherished the deep and lasting bonds she shared with her siblings—connections that brought great joy, comfort, and richness to her days.
Throughout her life, Thelma demonstrated her green thumb in her gardening endeavors. She took great joy in tending to her plants, and her love for animals—especially cats—was always evident. An active member of her community, she also dedicated her time and energy to teaching Sunday school, nurturing the faith of young children up to the fifth grade. Her life was filled with beautiful moments, often accompanied by the hymns that resonated with her soul.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for January 8, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Maraman Billings Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on January 9, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM and will be officiated by Stan Lowery at Maraman Billings Funeral Home.
