Teddy Lee Flener Sr

Teddy Lee Flener Sr., a beloved caregiver and friend to many, passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 53. He was born in Louisville on November 12, 1971, and his life was characterized by his outgoing personality and his profound love for people.

Teddy's nurturing spirit shone through in all he did. As a dedicated football coach, he touched the lives of several local youths, providing guidance and support to those around him. He was a positive role model in the lives of many. His commitment to helping others was unwavering, and this dedication made him a cherished presence in the lives of his family and friends.

He took great joy in various hobbies, from coaching football to enjoying the tranquility of the lake through fishing and boating. Teddy was also an avid fan of UK sports and the Dallas Cowboys, passionately supporting his teams.

He is survived by his children, Teddy "TJ" Flener Jr. (Dawn), Cortnie McDonald (Micheal), and Kristen Flener (Kyle), who will carry on his legacy of kindness and generosity. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy; he leaves behind a loving family of grandchildren, including Blake, Mason, Bailey, Benson, Grayson, Tatum, Paxton, KJ, Prestyn, and Kruz. Teddy is survived by his brother Jerry Flener (Carissa), along with numerous extended family members and friends who were touched by his warmth and compassion.

Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, Danny Bruce Flener Sr. and Carolyn Dewitt Flener, and his brother, Danny Flener Jr.

 His family remembers him as a guiding light, whose spirit and love will forever remain in their hearts.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitations to be held at Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville, KY, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 4- 8 PM; Wednesday August 13, 2025, from 12- 8 PM; and on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 9:00 am until noon. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM, officated by Bro. Joe McGrew. Burial to follow in Hebron Cemetery. 

Teddy Lee Flener Sr. will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were privileged to know him. His legacy of love, care, and passion will continue to inspire those he left behind.
