In her own playful way, she affectionately called them her “little heifers,” a nickname that became part of the treasured memories they will carry forward.

Stacie Dale Vaughan passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 53. Born on October 1, 1972, Stacie will be remembered for her unique personality, her warm sense of humor, and the deep love she carried for her family, especially the fierce love she had for her daughter.

During her high school years, Stacie enjoyed sports, and throughout her life she loved conversation and making connections with people. She was a devoted fan of Iron Man, and those who knew her will remember how easily she could talk, laugh, and share herself with others. Above all, her family remembers the many small moments that made time with Stacie so special.

Family was at the center of Stacie’s life. She loved spending time with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whom she loved dearly. In her own playful way, she affectionately called them her “little heifers,” a nickname that became part of the treasured memories they will carry forward. She also shared a particularly close bond with her father and was, in every sense, a Daddy’s girl. It is a comfort to those who loved her to think of her reunited with him.

Her humor and the joy she brought to family life live on in the stories now being retold with laughter and affection. One niece fondly remembered spending school breaks and summers with Stacie in Kentucky, staying up all night watching movies, eating cookie dough, and laughing together. One especially memorable night involved Stacie’s restless leg syndrome, which amused her niece at the time. Years later, when that same niece experienced trouble with her own legs and texted Stacie about it, Stacie jokingly told her that she had gotten what she deserved for laughing all those years before. Another family story that remained unforgettable was the time Stacie and her niece encountered a spider in the bathroom. The two screamed at each other over who would get rid of it, and when neither would take on the task, they called Dad for help. It became one of those stories that would be shared for years, along with the teasing claim that Stacie was to blame for her niece’s lifelong fear of spiders.

Stacie was preceded in death by her father, Robert Vaughan.

She is survived by her daughter, Morgan Baker; her mother, Doris Vaughan; her brother, Ricky Vaughan (Rick); her twin sister, Tracie Skaggs; and Vickie Propes (Tony). She also leaves behind the nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews she cherished so dearly, along with many loved ones who will continue to hold her laughter, her stories, and her love close to their hearts.

A memorial gathering for Stacie will be held on September 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Thixton Lane Baptist Church, 7700 Thixton Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40229. The service will be officiated by Jonathan Vaughan, and a fellowship meal in the gym will follow the services.

Stacie will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely and the memories she created with her family will remain forever.
