He was a distinguished member of the Navy Nuclear Weapons Association, respectfully known as the "Keepers of the Dragon." Alongside his enlisted brothers, Bobby built, loaded, and maintained nuclear weapons with exceptional skill and precision, demonstrating steadfast commitment and expertise that earned him great respect among his peers.

Following his honorable military career, Bobby continued his legacy of service as a dispatcher for the Regional Airport Authority of Louisville, where he worked impeccably for 22 years before retiring. Throughout his professional life, Bobby was recognized for his reliability and dedication, traits that defined not only his career but also his character.

Beyond his career and military achievements, Bobby had a genuine passion for woodworking and found joy in one of his favorite pastimes—working on cars. These hobbies reflected his hands-on nature and love for craftsmanship, providing comfort and satisfaction throughout his life.

Bobby leaves behind a cherished family who loved him dearly. His beloved spouse, Linda Thompson, stood by his side through life’s many journeys. He was a proud father to Paul Thompson and his wife Ruth, Timothy Thompson and his wife Tammy, and Lori Thompson and her husband Ken. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Katelyn, Scott, Damon, Mason, and Madelynn, as well as seven great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy. Additionally, Bobby’s siblings Wayne Hodge and his wife Judy, and Ben Hodge and his wife Thersa, remain part of his enduring family circle.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father Robert Thompson, mother Margaret Waters Hodge, stepfather Vernon Hodge, and brothers Curtis Hodge, Anthony Hodge, and Randy Hodge.

The family has requested that services be held privately, honoring Bobby's memory in an intimate setting close to those who knew and loved him most. His legacy of service, craftsmanship, and devotion to family will be remembered with great respect and admiration by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
