Richard "Rick" William Carter

Richard “Rick” William Carter, 49 of Shepherdsville, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, at Taylor Regional Hospital, with his mother by his side.
Rick was a Baptist by faith and had attended Vine Hill Baptist Church. He was big hearted, an avid UK sports fan, and a very social person that could strike up a conversation and bond with anyone. Rick was known to always show up just when he was needed, and he enjoyed helping people anyway he could. A loving father, son, and friend, he will be missed by all who know him.
Rick is survived by his mother and stepfather, Cathy and Steve Phelps; his father, Gary William Carter; his daughter, Shyanne “Anne” Phelps-Carter, his siblings, Sarah Walker (Ryan), Suzie Huffman (Troy), and Tim Phelps (Regina); his nieces and nephews, Josie Froman, Brady Ogden, Alyssa Phelps, and Mason Phelps; his great-nephew, River Uhl.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Vine Hill Baptist Church, with Bro. Greg Crenshaw officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
