Rebecca "Becky" Ann Russ Scott, a devoted funeral director, embalmer, and compassionate caregiver, passed away on June 4, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin, with her loving son Jason by her side. Born on September 29, 1961, in Heidelberg, Germany, Becky’s early years were shaped by her pride in her father’s military career, living abroad while he served with the Army.
A graduate of Mid America College of Funeral Service, Becky found her true calling in comforting others in times of need. Since 1988, she dedicated herself to this noble profession, most recently sharing her talents with the Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville, KY, and previously serving families with equal grace at Foreman Funeral Home in Jeffersontown. Her commitment was not limited to people alone; her heart extended warmly to animals. She worked alongside veterinarians and devoted tireless care to rescues such as Kaydee's Promise Feline Rescue, even sacrificing her own rest to bottle feed countless kittens and ensure their survival.
Becky was known for her selflessness, always offering help with no desire for recognition or applause. Her mother’s passion for music enlivened her own life, and together they performed, especially enjoying classic country music. Her encyclopedic knowledge of country music made her a formidable competitor on the trivia gameshow Fandango, where she achieved the impressive feat of a five-day grand champion, earning prizes ranging from microwaves to luxury coats. Additionally, Becky’s joyful spirit found expression in her work delivering singing telegrams for Eastern Onion Telegrams, enchanting many with her voice.
Those who knew Becky treasured her bright, bubbly smile and her ever-chatty nature. She shared stories and found connections with others effortlessly, offering a kind word or a thoughtful reflection inspired by her observations. Her children and grandchildren were the heart of her world, and she delighted in attending games, shopping for school clothes, and spending cherished evenings with her grandkids, whom she lovingly called “Nanny.”
Becky faced her health challenges with courage and determination. Even throughout her brave battle, she found strength and support within the community of Gilda's Club, where she cherished the dinners, gifts, and the bonds of friendship that uplifted her spirit during difficult times.
She is survived by her children Jason Davis, Michelle Glasscock (Joe), Robert Scott (Angela), and her beloved grandchildren Emilee Kalb (Logan), Addison Mouldin, Brayden Glasscock, and Tinsley Davis. She also leaves behind many loving cousins, extended family members, and countless friends who will remember her warmth and generous heart.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Russ and Alene Wilson, and her brother Jimmy Garland.
Family and friends are invited to honor Becky’s memory at the Maraman Billings Funeral Home, located at 605 South Preston Highway, Shepherdsville, KY 40165. Visitation will be held on June 8, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on June 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Her funeral service will follow on June 9 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Rebecca “Becky” Ann Russ Scott’s life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to others. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and spirited engagement with life will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.
