Minnie Burks, of Fairdale , passed away on June 1, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on April 6, 1943, in Grays, Kentucky, Minnie’s life was marked by her unwavering devotion to family and community. She was a retired employee of Delmonico-Hershey Pasta.

Minnie was known for her gentle spirit and steadfast commitment to those she loved. Her journey from her hometown of Grays to Louisville was filled with moments that highlighted her strength and kindness. Throughout her life, she remained connected to her roots, carrying with her the values and traditions that shaped her character.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Linda Rogers, and son, Roger Burks, along with their respective partners, Joe Roberts and Shannon. Minnie's family also includes her loving stepmother, Helen Garland, her twin brother, Robert Garland, and stepsister, Mary Johnson. She took great joy in the company of her half-sisters, Lucy Keller and Pam Clark, as well as her half-brother, Willis Garland, Jr. Minnie's legacy continues through her grandson, Timothy Rogers, and his partner, Tracy, as well as through six great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable happiness to her later years.

Minnie’s life was also marked by the memories of those she lovingly remembered and mourned, including her granddaughter, Tera Ewing. She was preceded in death by her brothers Charles Garland, Henderson Garland, Jerry Garland, James Scalf, and Gilbert Garland, and by her sisters Harriet Smith, Cordie Schultz, and Evelyn Foster.

Through her enduring faith, compassion, and commitment to family, Minnie touched the hearts of many. Her legacy will be remembered with respect and affection by all who knew her. She leaves behind a family bound by love and gratitude for the time they shared with her.

Minnie's passing marks the loss of a beloved matriarch whose life’s story will continue to inspire those who knew her, reminding us of the strength that comes from love and family. May she rest in peace.

Her funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Maraman-Billings Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Eden Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
