Michael Ray Wells

 Michael Ray Wells, 57 of Shepherdsville passed away with his family by his side on Friday, August 30, 2024, at UofL Jewish Hospital.

 Michael was a Christian by faith. He was a Master Mechanic and the owner of Mike’s Mobile Service. He was also skilled at working on computers and sound equipment. He was the life of the party, animated, loud, full of one-liners, he always had a smile on his face, and it was contagious. He enjoyed being a DJ, energizing the crowd and ensuring a great time was had by all. Michael was an entertainer, he loved to sing, he proclaimed, “I don’t need a mic, I am the mic!” His spirit was vibrant. He was fond of cooking and smoking meat, hosting meals shared among family and friends. Michael had strong family bonds, he loved his mother and aunt Ninnie dearly; he was a loving brother, and uncle; he was a devoted father to Michael II and Heather; always supportive, Michael II, his son, was his biggest fan. He was incredibly proud of his family and proud to be a Wells.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marian and George Wells, Jr., along with his brother George Wells III. 

Michael is survived by his children Michael Ray Wells II (Angela Long) of Georgetown, IN and Heather Nicole Wells of Sellersburg, IN; siblings Cynthia Kay Deaver (Richard) of Shelbyville and Mark Leslie Wells (Tara) of Mt. Washington; grandchildren Adyn Michael Wells, Christian John Leo Wilson, Kygan Parker Lee Wells, Charity Nicole Wilson, Shad Long, Eligh Long, and Shaelia Long; to include several nieces and nephews, additional family and friends. 

Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with burial to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
