Michael "Two Gun" Nix, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Born on March 26, 1957, in Louisville, Kentucky, Michael's life was marked by warmth, dedication, and a passion for simple joys that endeared him to all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Michael was known for his love of fishing and playing cornhole—activities through which he found peace and connection. These pastimes not only reflected his easygoing nature but also served as a way to bring family and friends together, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Michael's enduring devotion was most evident in his family life. He was the loving husband of Anna Nix for 36 years, sharing a partnership built on mutual respect and deep affection. Their bond was the cornerstone of a strong family foundation that would grow and flourish over the decades.
He was a proud father to his sons, Doug Nix, who is married to Lauren, and Russell Bennington who is married to Clarissa. Michael’s nurturing spirit extended effortlessly to his sisters, Carol Warner (Lauren) and Libby Bryant, and his brothers, Jerry Nix (Thersa) and Joe Nix, all of whom remain a testament to the close-knit family ties that surrounded him throughout his life.
Grandfatherhood brought Michael immense joy, with grandchildren who adored him deeply: Zachary Bennington (Makaela), Zachary Brunson (Sable), Jordan Tatum (Jayla), Brianna Tatum (Nathan), Emery Nix, and Archie Nix. Their presence enriched his later years, offering countless moments of pride and happiness. The family's legacy continued into the next generation with his great-grandchildren: Maddie Bennington, Blakeley Bennington, Jazzlyn Bennington, and Glias Brunson, each a vibrant part of the family’s future and a living tribute to Michael’s enduring influence.
Michael "Two Gun" Nix leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the quiet strength of a man who treasured family and the pleasures of life’s simple pastimes. His memory will be carried forward in the hearts of his loved ones and all who were fortunate enough to share in his life’s journey. In remembering Michael, we honor a life well-lived and a soul deeply loved.
