James D. Lambdin

James D. Lambdin, 82 years old from Lebanon Junction, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father, April 24, 2026, surrounded by his family. 

He was born June 20, 1943, to the late Edna and Elmer Lambdin. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ed, Bill and Lonny.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Lovella Hill Lambdin. Three children Beth Harkins (Rusty), Jennifer Luttrell (Mark) and Dale Lambdin (Stacy); four grandchildren Courtney McFarland (Cameron), Ashley Lambdin, Nicolas Comley and Skylar Higdon; and one great-grandson Foster Matthew McFarland. 

James repented of his sins and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1963 at Buffalo Baptist Church in Whitley County, KY. He was a member of Faith Baptist Bible Church in Lebanon Junction. He was a devout Christian, Husband, Father, Papaw and Friend. He loved to sing southern gospel music and was a part of three quartets- The Evangeleers, The Freedom Heirs and The Comforters; and he loved to drive the quartet bus. 

He loved people and never met a stranger. He loved fishing with his son and grandsons- and anyone who would go with him. He loved flowers, gardening and canning the food he grew. 

James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on their hearts. 

Visitation will be held at Maraman Billings Funeral home from 2-8pm on Friday, May 1, 2026, continuing on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 10am until time of service at 1:00pm. Funeral Services will take place at the funeral home beginning at 1pm, officiated by Bro. Jack Roberts. Burial will follow in Lebanon Junction Cemetery at a later date.
