James Wendell Dockery, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on September 26, 2026, in Shepherdsville. He was 59. Born on January 14, 1967, in Louisville, Kentucky, James will be remembered with love by all who knew him.

Above all, James was a devoted family man whose life was deeply rooted in the people he loved most. He shared 38 years of marriage with his loving wife, Marty Dockery, a partnership marked by enduring love and commitment. His family was central to his life, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those closest to him.

He is survived by his wife, Marty Dockery; his daughters, Kayla Riggs and her husband Billy, and Ashley Dockery and Doug; and his sons, Matthew Dockery and Michael Dockery. He is also survived by his brothers, Phillip England and his wife Vickie, Howard Dockery, and Steven Dockery; and by his sister, Stephanie Wells and her husband Larry. Each of them carries forward cherished memories of James and the lasting impact of his presence in their lives.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Charles Dockery; his grandson, Waylon Riggs; his brother, Tommy Dockery; and his grandparents, Hazel Dockery, Joe England, and Juanita England.

Those who knew James will remember him with affection and gratitude, and his life will be honored through the love of his family and the memories they continue to share. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

Cremation was chosen, there will be no service or visitation at this time.
