Imogene Elliott, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, at Norton Audubon Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and nurturing. Born in Bullitt County, Kentucky, on December 12, 1942, Imogene dedicated her life to her family and community.
As a faithful Baptist, Imogene found strength in her faith, which guided her throughout her life. She was known for her warm personality and her passion for caregiving. A devoted homemaker, she took great pleasure in sewing, preparing family dinners from scratch, and tending to her beautiful garden. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and the meals she prepared were a testament to her love for her family.
Imogene is survived by her loving children: Stacy Elliott, Kendrick Elliott, Nora Elliott, Lisa Oxford, and David Elliott. She also cherished her siblings, including her brother Clyde Smith and sisters Patsy Coomer, Ruby Flone, and Ramona Hodge. Imogene is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Kathleen Hodge, her son Vernon Elliott, and several siblings.
Friends and family are invited to commemorate Imogene's life during her burial service, which will take place on August 18, 2025. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery, located at 187 Deatsville Road, Shepherdsville, Kentucky, with the service concluding at 12:00 PM.
Imogene's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone she encountered.
