Daniel Lee Pryor, Sr., 72 of Shepherdsville passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, at University of Louisville Hospital.
Daniel was a Baptist by faith, he proudly served in the United States Army, and he retired from General Electric after 35 years. He was an avid UofL Cardinal fan, no matter the sport, he supported his Cards. He enjoyed singing karaoke and serenading his beloved wife. Daniel loved days spent fishing, no matter the weather, he went out to see if the fish were biting. His loyal canine companion, Roxy, was never far from his side. He cherished time spent with family, especially time spent making memories with the grandchildren. Daniel had a need for speed, he made numerous laps around the track while racing stock cars. After completing his final lap, he continued to spend countless nights at the track supporting his son’s drag racing career. Regarded as one the greatest drivers in local stock racing, he will forever remain a champion in the eyes of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Katherine Pryor; his brother Richard Pryor.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of more than 54 years, Jamie Pryor; children Eva Stevens of Shepherdsville, Sarina Durbin (Douglas) of Taylorsville, Daniel Pryor, Jr. of Shepherdsville, and John Pryor (Jennette) of Taylorsville; siblings Gail Mabe, Barbara Pryor, and Johnny Pryor all of Louisville, and Owen Pryor and Kirk Pryor both of Shepherdsville; along with 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, additional family members and friends.
