Red was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was a hard worker throughout his life, always striving to get ahead and never afraid of a new opportunity. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War era.

Throughout his life, he owned and worked in the coal mines of Eastern Kentucky, owned and operated a gas station and a laundromat, drove a Louisville city bus, and worked in insurance and real estate, among many other endeavors.

Red’s true passion, however, was horses. He loved owning and training racehorses, trading horses, and helping others. For many years, he owned a boarding stable in Fairdale, Kentucky, where he made many lifelong friends.

Red loved being outdoors and was happiest riding his tractor or mowing the grass. Whether working, tending to his horses, or simply enjoying the outdoors, he found purpose in staying busy and doing what he loved.

Red leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and independence. He will be remembered and cherished by his family and all who knew him.
