Carol Hale Mumford

Carol Hale Mumford, 77 of Big Clifty passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at her home, with her family by her side.
She was a Christian by faith. A caregiver by trade, she placed the needs of others above her own. Carol was a loving mother and grandmother, she found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, and she loved having family together. Carol planted a yearly flower and vegetable garden, she canned her harvest and shared it with family, friends, and neighbors. Carol took pride in her home and family, she was a true matriarch, never to be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dennis Richard Mumford, Sr.; parents Woody and Rosa Hale; her grandson Richard Neal Mumford; along with all of her siblings.
Carol is survived by her children Angela Mullikin of Big Clifty, Dennis Mumford, Jr. (Hanh) of Louisville, and Carol Blizzard of Meade County; her grandchildren Charles Mullikin (Melissa), Elizabeth Schoenhoff (Brian), Anthony Schienhoff (Kisha), Jessica Mumford, Katie Boone, and Haley Mumford; numerous great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; along with additional family members and friends.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Veatch officiating. Burial will follow at Sand Knob Cemetery in Grayson County.
Visitations will be Friday 1-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
