"Budro" Donald Jacob Fultz

"Budro" Donald Jacob Fultz, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away at his home on September 15, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on October 7, 1956, in Hodgenville, he will be remembered as a respected, honest, and loyal man whose life was centered on hard work, family, and the simple joys he loved most.

Budro was a hardworking farmhand for Rolling Acres McGruder Farm for more than 38 years. His steady dedication and strong work ethic reflected the kind of man he was throughout his life. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he treasured time spent with his family and brothers. He was always there to listen and tried to help everyone he could. Those who knew him knew a great father and husband, a man whose presence brought strength, warmth, and dependability to the people around him.

One of the greatest blessings of his life was the love he shared with his wife, Rebecca Janes Fultz. For more than four decades, they built a life together marked by devotion and companionship. They spent nearly every Friday and Saturday dancing together and shared many happy times watching truck pulls, making memories that will be cherished by all who knew them.

His family was the heart of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca Janes Fultz; his children, Jennifer Janes and Jordan Fultz; and by Patricia Walker and Russell Brooks, whom he accepted and loved as his own children. He also leaves behind his cherished grandson, Isaiah Franklin Janes, who was, in Budro’s eyes, the greatest thing ever. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Tommy Fultz, Pretty Fultz, Moose Fultz, Audrey Fultz, Marlynne Fultz, Dallas Fultz, Bony Fultz, Sharon Fultz, and Debbie Williams. He leaves each of them with memories of time shared, laughter, loyalty, and the bond of family that meant so much to him. 

The bond Budro created with his children is undeniable and evident by the obituary that Jennifer wrote for her father: Daddy is survived by his family and a lot of friends. He loved to hunt and fish and hang with Randall Gilbert, Rodney Slater, and Mark Stalin, together they were 4 brothers. Leo, Steve, Brent, Mike, Mike & Von, Gary & Kevin, they all respected the hard workin, honest, loyal man. He was a great father, a husband, and someone you could talk to. Now he's in Heaven, he doesn't have to suffer any more. Daddy now you have your wings to fly with Ralph, PeeWee, Duces, Clearance and Jenkinn.    

He was preceded in death by his mother, Zelma Walker, and his father, Harold Fultz. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Patricia Fultz, Bossy Fultz, Frances Fultz, and Bill Williams; by Robert and Bridget Fultz; by Gary and Cindy Fultz; and by Pam and Charlie Fultz. Their memory remained a lasting part of his life and family story.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Maraman Billings Funeral Home, 605 Preston Hwy, Shepherdsville, Kentucky 40165. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Budro will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the work he gave himself to faithfully, and the many moments of kindness, laughter, and steadfast care that defined his life.
