Billy Ray Bartley

Billy Ray Bartley passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, at the age of 82. Born on September 11, 1943, in Buchanan, Virginia, Billy lived a full and meaningful life defined by hard work, deep love for family, and quiet strength.

Throughout his life, Billy devoted himself both to his family and his career. He spent many years working at General Electric Appliance Park, where he built a reputation for reliability and dedication before enjoying a well-earned retirement. Billy’s steady presence was a source of support and encouragement to those around him, and his colleagues remember him fondly for his commitment and civility in the workplace.

Billy’s family held a special place at the center of his life. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Kimberly Vittitow, and her husband, Michael Vittitow. His legacy extends further to his cherished grandchildren, Lillian Vittitow and Keaton Vittitow, who brought him immense joy and pride. Billy is also survived by his beloved sister, Mable Morrell, who shared with him the bonds of family and memories of their upbringing in Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Bartley, whose companionship and love remained a constant in his life. Together, they navigated life’s challenges and joys, building a home filled with warmth and kindness.

Billy’s life was marked by humility, strong values, and a steadfast devotion to those he held dear. He was deeply proud of his roots and the family he helped raise. For all who knew him, Billy leaves behind memories of a gentle and honorable man whose presence enriched their lives.

A graveside service to honor Billy Ray and Wilma Kaye Bartley’s memory will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 North Dixie Boulevard, Fort Knox, KY 40121, on July 17, 2026, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate a life well lived.

Billy Ray Bartley will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known him, but his legacy of love, dedication, and integrity will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
