Betty Elaine Jeffries, born Betty Elaine Koenig, passed away on August 28, 2026, at UofL South Hospital in Shepherdsville. She was born on October 15, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Betty worked for Towers Scholls Trophies before the business closed, where she used her gifts as an artisan to create and personalize awards that celebrated the achievements of others in sports, academics, and business. She took genuine joy in recognizing the accomplishments of those around her, and that same generous spirit shaped the way she lived each day. Her deepest pride, however, was found at home in the family she and Jerry created together, in a safe and warm house full of love, and in the smiles and giggles of grandchildren that filled it with life.

She found happiness in simple, familiar pleasures. An ice-cold Diet Coke from McDonald’s and a word- search puzzle were the start to a perfect day. She enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls, Christmas bears, and jewelry, with a special fondness for her hoop earrings. Through life’s sorrows and losses, her compassion and love for others remained unwavering. Her laugh was infectious and could brighten even the hardest day. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma, and grannie.

In May of 1968, Betty married her husband, Jerry Jeffries, Sr., and together they built a life centered on love and family. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her son, Jerry Jeffries, Jr., and his wife, Robin; and her daughter, Tammy Logsdon and her husband, Jerry. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jenny, Georgie, Brandy, Cassie, Sara, and Frankie, as well as her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Sereniety, Connor, Chloe, Caleb, Jax’s, Kam, Landon, Madison, Louie, Anna, Rowan, Kennedy, Xaiver, Kody and Korra. Betty is also lovingly remembered by Kathy, affectionately known as “Dinky”, who was like a daughter to Betty.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Koenig; her mother, Mary Peacock; her daughter, Teresa Jeffries; and her granddaughters, Crystal and Beth.
