Rachel Leah Martin

February 17, 1979 - October 9, 2021

Rachel Leah Martin, A Mother, Daughter and friend to so many, unexpectedly went to meet her Heavenly Father on October 9, 2021. Rachel was the first daughter to be born into the Martin family. From birth she had a stratavarious calling on her life. She went above and beyond to show you how much she loved you; whether it was staying up all night laughing, giving you a shoulder to cry on or simply telling you the hard things you didn't want to hear. She prayed for you, believed in you, and sang to you. She was a warrior who was not afraid to get down in the trenches with you, in-spite of her own struggles. Rachel was a force to be reckoned with. Her heart beat and burned for her children; There wasn't anything she wouldn't give or do for them. She loved them with every fiber of her being. RACHEL WAS A FIGHTER. The road she traveled wasn't always easy, but she traveled it nonetheless She was preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents (her beloved Nannie and Gammie), her great uncle, Charles Beard and great aunt Carolyn Beard. She is survived by her three children, Caleb, Saraia and Gabriel Hoagland; her mother Kathleen Martin and father Joseph Martin; her maternal grandmother Shirley Cooke; her eight siblings, Jacob Martin (Heather), Rebekah Schafer (John), Hannah Slusher (Chris), Abigail Martin, Lydia Fediw (Alex), Elisha Goldsmith (Troy), Seth Martin and David Martin; Twenty nieces and nephews; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, friends; along with her beloved dog Simba. We will carry on her legacy and fight for the ones we love as fiercely as she did. There is now an empty space in our family that can never be filled. Rachel, you are loved and will be sorely missed. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 at Evangel World Prayer Center 6900 Billtown Road, Louisville, KY 40299 with Pastor Kevin McKnight officiating. Burial will follow in Crosswater Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Anyone that would like to send flowers please send them to Evangel World Prayer Center 6900 Billtown Road, Louisville, KY 40299 Online condolences may be made at maramanbillings.com.
